Hi, my name is Kirk Clemons and this blog is about my reflections on the many choices men face every day. Some choices are obvious, but there are many we make every day that we may not give any thought to. But, it’s this thoughtlessness that I hope to overcome and, as I share my reflections, it is my prayer that God would use them to also help you in your walk.
As men, we are called to be intentional in our daily walk. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are urged to follow his example and choose mercy, grace, patience, self-control, humility, generosity, and love.
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
I have come to think of life in this way more and more, thanks in no small part to the men in my life over the years. My grandfather used to tell me every chance he got that You become the things you practice.
. It’s on this saying that I tend to re-think my habits and tendencies and ask important questions such as; Where am I spending my time and energy? What are my idols and distractions? Which “practices” do I need to stop and which do I need to pick up?
My prayer is that as I explore Scripture, and inspect what it says about how I should be living my life in light of the Gospel, that it may encourage and strengthen you and your resolve to be an intentional man of faith. As men in a world and culture that encourages us to be apathetic and passive we must actively, rather than passively, choose to put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11), hold fast without wavering (Hebrews 10:23), and walk in integrity (Proverbs 10:9) every day.
With all this in mind, I will be exploring areas such as, Scripture, being a husband, and being a father. As I expand on these I will be trying to share things that I’ve found to be helpful both practically as well as spiritually or emotionally. I hope to tap into my skills as a developer to show how to protect yourself and your family online while teaching your children to be responsible little weblings. I’ll also be sharing activities that my kids and I enjoy as well as things that my wife and I have shared or experienced that may be worth sharing with others.
